Suspected burglar found stuck in a chicken shop vent

Aaaand the burglar of the year award goes to...

Imagine To Catch a Thief, but instead of Cary Grant it's a guy stuck in a vent for hours and hours.

On Thursday West Midlands Police arrested a suspect in Birmingham, UK, in a rather odd position.

According to the police press release the suspect had been stuck there for a nightmarish seven hours, and had to call to passers-by for help.

"Police were called after a member of the public spotted a pair of legs sticking out from DFC Chicken on Rookery Road in Handsworth at around 8.20am today, 2 November," said the statement.

According to Response officer PC Matthew Willocks, in order to rescue the would-be burglar, "the fire brigade had to come in and use the jaws of life to pull back all the extractor casing to release him."

The suspect was taken to the hospital then arrested on suspicion of burglary.

People on Twitter has a few theories as to how and why the man got up there.

Great theories all.
