While the whale shark swim has been offered for a few years, the ability to swim with humpback whales is a completely new experience for the area.

“Visitors will now have an opportunity to tick two key wildlife experiences off their bucket list at Ningaloo Reef, providing yet another exciting reason to visit the Coral Coast this year," said Kristy Brian Smith, Exmouth visitor center general manager.

The tours allow a maximum of five swimmers in the water with one humpback at a time to maintain "strict environmental standards," according to the company.

Typically, swimming with humpback whales and whale sharks is popular in places along the Caribbean. Those animals migrate from the Arctic while the whales in Western Australia migrate from the Antarctic.
