Strippers -- enjoyed by people across genders, races and high school classes.

The girls' synchronized swimming team at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa decided they wanted to throw a different kind of banquet this year. Tired of the traditional, insipid family-friendly banquet, they hired a more alternative form of entertainment. They called a male stripper.

While most strippers might turn down a high school banquet for being too -- you know, illegal -- this stripper actually showed up to the Des Moines Social Club. Before he disrobed, he was kindly asked to leave.

Tragedy.

"The male stripper was hired by some ninth-grade members of the group," Phil Roeder, a spokesman for the district, told The Des Moines Register.

A Social Club employee confronted the stripper after discovering that his attire was "inappropriate" for a high school crowd. Thongs will never get the respect they deserve.

The synchronized swimming club, known as the Sharks, serves girls between 9th and 12th grade.

The school is currently debating the appropriate punishment for the students.

Who knew that synchronized swimming could be so saucy?
