Down 14 points at halftime, Syracuse could have folded. Instead, the Orange stormed back to beat top-seed Virginia and book themselves a trip to the Final Four.

Syracuse made history in doing so, becoming the first 10-seed to ever reach a Final Four of March Madness

This doesn't mean Syracuse is the biggest underdog ever to reach the Final Four, however. George Mason and Virginia Commonwealth were 11-seeds in 2006 and 2011, respectively. But Sunday's comeback win over Virginia caps a shocking run for Syracuse, nonetheless.

Most college basketball followers were stunned to see Syracuse sneak into the March Madness field after finishing with a regular-season record of 19-13.

But the Orange breezed to wins over Dayton and Middle Tennessee State before eking out a tight win over Gonzaga in the Sweet 16

Then came Sunday's comeback over Virginia, in which Malachi Richardson led the team with 23 points,  21 of which he scored in the second half. He scored from all over the floor, including this three-pointer that put Syracuse up 64-58 late in the second half.

"This is the best comeback we've ever had," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said after the game.

This story isn't over, though. While Syracuse will enter the Final Four as a decided underdog, the Orange have already proven they don't pay doubters much mind.

After entering March Madness as a team many said didn't deserve a spot, Syracuse is now two wins away from writing its own perfect ending.
