Swiss luxury watch maker Tag Heuer is back with another smartwatch, and this one is...a little funkier than their typical watch.

The new watch — which is officially called TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition — is a Super Mario-themed edition of the company's Tag Heuer Connected, a smartwatch that was launched in March 2020.

The Super Mario watch, created in partnership with Nintendo has a price tag of $2,150 — so, not much more than the original Connected, which cost $1,800.

For your money, you get basically the same watch as Tag Heuer Connected, only with new, animated watch faces and a gamification rewards system. There are subtle differences on the outside, too, including a red "M" logo on the push buttons, a similar logo on the strap buckles, as well as an inscription on the back that says "TAG Heuer x Super Mario Limited Edition."

Tag Heuer doesn't list all the specs for the new watch, but if it's the same hardware as it was in the original Tag Heuer Connected, that's a bit of a problem. That watch is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, which is ancient by today's standards. Worse, it runs on Wear OS, which is essentially obsolete now that Google has partnered with Samsung to build a new wearables platform.

Other than that, the watch has decent specs, including a 454x454 pixel OLED display with sapphire glass, a battery with 20 hours of battery life, a built-in heart-rate monitor, WiFi, GPS, and 5 ATM water resistance.

The Super Mario variant of the Connected is a limited edition timepiece, with only 2,000 units produced. It'll be available starting July 15 in selected Tag Heuer boutiques and at the company's website.
