Taking Back Sunday are set to release their ninth album later this year, and judging by the sound of the title track, it won't sound a thing like "Cute Without the E."

Rather, "Tidal Wave" finds them more firmly in the Ramones' territory, leaving the "You're So Last Summer" brand of emo far behind them and opting for more raucous punk, with frontman Adam Lazarra aksing on the chorus, "When you embrace chaos or take control?/ Will you call for peace or will you join the war?"

The band also shared a video for the song, featuring performance footage of them performing the song. The band has performed the track live on their tour with Dashboard Confessional.

In an interview with EW, Lazarra said the new album has "more of an Americana feel."

“With our first records, we’re writing from the perspective of 17, 18-year-old kids and now it’s like as you grow older the blinders get pulled back and you have a different way of looking at the world around you,” he said. “There’s more of an Americana feel.”

Tidal Wave will be released on Sept. 16.
