If eyes are the windows to the soul, one artist paints some lovely curtains.

Tal Peleg is a visual artist in Israel with a penchant for using her own eyelids as a canvas.

"Art was a part of my life since I can remember myself, and I also always loved makeup, since I was a little child and thought it was an amazing form of art," Peleg told Mashable in an email. "I used to experience with artistic makeup when I was very young, and over time it developed more and more."

"Illustration and photography are also great passions of mine, so my eye-artistry was my way of mixing all of my passions together," Peleg said. "It started as more abstract artistic makeup works, and over time my style became more and more illustrative."

With bright colors, attention to detail and intricate characters, Peleg has many fans. Her eye makeup creations have been appreciated all across the web and garnered her over 268,000 Instagram followers.

As for what inspires Peleg, her interests range greatly.

"I choose the things that I find interesting and life and give it my own unique artistic interpretation on my eye," she said. "It can be movies, musical, fairytales, books, emotions and even social matters like anti-bullying or pet adoption awareness, for example."

Different designs include Deadpool, The Shining and The Wizard of Oz.

The process of creating Peleg's eye art clocks in at an average of three hours per eye.

"It really depends on the design and how complicated and detailed it is, or if I plan ahead or improvise," she said. "It can take one and a half hours, or even five. I believe the average is about three hours."

It takes plenty of women that time to create the perfect cat eye, so this makes Peleg's process even more impressive.
