Woman gets sentimental neck tattoo and then realizes it's the Toronto Blue Jays logo

It was supposed to be a nostalgic tattoo to remember her childhood home.

When Amanda Fiske got another tattoo last August, she thought it would be a sentimental reminder of her childhood home in the suburbs of Boston.

Instead, a friend pointed out, the final product looked a lot like the Toronto Blue Jays logo.

It was far from her first tattoo -- the 25-year-old dog walker was already heavily tattooed with nature-themed designs. She worked with tattoo artist Jonathan Penchoff to create a vibrant piece featuring a blue jay being engulfed in a fiery red maple leaf, in honor of the New England autumns and the blue jays that used to inhabit her parents' backyard bird feeder.

"The whole piece is just kind of nostalgic I guess," she said through Twitter DM.

Fiske said she and Penchoff had no idea that their design looked so much like the logo. She said she just "let him run with it" and that with all of her tattoos, she usually told the artist about the elements she wanted and "let them do their own thing in their own style."

She even made fun of herself, tweeting about the logo design. Then she forgot about it until a Cubs fan account tweeted screenshots of her tattoo on Saturday.

Fiske said she posted the photos because she thought it was funny. "I wouldn't have noticed on my own because I'm not a huge sports fan," she said.

She has no plans to get it covered up, despite the trolls in her Twitter mentions. Although she's gotten online backlash for having a neck tattoo, Fiske says her clients "only care that I'm capable of taking care of their pets."

"Which I am," she added.

"I think it would be different if the tattoo was poorly done but it's not," Fiske said about the trolls. "But it's not so they can't tell me it's shitty or whatever."

In fact, she even has a rose tattoo planned, if she can find a gap between the rest of ink.

Even though she has an unintentional homage to the Toronto Blue Jays, Fiske was clear that there was no chance of a Boston-area sports team tattoo on her body.

"Hahahah god no," she said.
