A girl got the perfect tattoo to remind people she's deaf in one ear
Imgur user raingoose was tired of reminding people not to speak into her deaf ear. So she decided to ink a permanent reminder — a tiny tattoo of a speaker icon with an "X" beside it.
"I thought this was a friendly [way] to remind the world not to talk to me from the left," she wrote.

Other Imgur users with impaired hearing appreciated the innovative ink. "Totally stealing your idea!" user DactylicHexameter wrote.
A few commenters wondered why the tattoo was a speaker instead of a microphone. "[The speaker] makes me think there is no audio coming out," one wrote.
But that was nothing Raingoose hadn't thought about before. She revealed that while she had considered getting a microphone instead, she was afraid that it would discourage people from talking to her at all — which is not her goal.
"I may be a stutterer, but I can still articulate myself," she said.
Raingoose also offered some sage advice to people who share her disability.
"Don't worry, I know it sucks so bad," she wrote. "But eventually you'll get used to it and it will be a tiny little thing that is a part of you."
