Taylor Swift did a thing this week and the world is collectively losing its mind.

In their frenzy of excitement over news that Swift is releasing a single Thursday night off her Nov. 10 album Reputation, fans are creating memes and conspiracies hidden in the artwork which, if you look closely is just newspaper-style text listing only her name.

(Not much of a stretch for a person who would name an album after her birth year.)

We stuck to the number of times her name was visibly written

Well, we did it -- we counted the number of times her name appeared on the album cover. Someone had to. Most of the album is an absolute mess to decipher, so for the "official" tally we stuck to the number of times her name was visibly written.

First we divided the cover into sections beginning with the far left column that starts at Swift’s forehead and trails down to just below her collarbone on her sweater. For that we found her name 168 times.

The top was another messy cluster of words that overlapped each other, so we counted what was visibly written -- which came out to 140. The center was a little dizzying, but with enough concentration and multiple do-overs, we came to 219.

The last section was the bottom right, which came out to an easy 59.

Finally, we counted those big old headlines and by-lines you couldn’t mistake: 46.

The final tally came to a whopping 672.

Six hundred and seventy two!

Interestingly enough, her name shows up as more than just Taylor Swift. There is also T. Swift, taylorswift, or even TS. Each of these iterations was counted as a mention. By adding in an estimation of the cluster of words at the top right corner that overlap on one another, our complete estimated tally comes to ... 899.

There's that birth year again!
