Taylor Swift's first album, Taylor Swift, came out 10 years ago, and everything's been so much Swiftier ever since than.
To celebrate, Tay posted a throwback shot on Instagram of herself, curly hair in a ponytail, playing acoustic guitar. There are undoubtably many, many photos of this nature, so we must ponder the significance of this selection, because Swift's actions are all carefully considered.
And so, Swifties, let's ascribe meaning to the hoodie.
Swift's Victoria's Secret PINK hoodie is a declaration of victory. Because now, a decade later, the popular girls want to be her friends.
“I had a lot of trouble in school. I was really different,” Swift revealed. “I was taller, and I sang country music — and apparently that wasn’t the genre of choice for middle-schoolers in Wyomissing, PA, at the time," 16-year-old Swift said back in 2006. "I got a lot of grief for it. And I think at that point I came to a crossroads in my life… I had to turn it into something positive. And for, that was songwriting."
Congratulations, Tay. Ten years later, you're dominating the industry flanked by Victoria's Secret angels. You and your squad have plenty to celebrate.
