When he's hanging out with Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran has apparently perfected a clever technique: "peacocking".

Swift presented incontrovertible evidence of this phenomenon -- which apparently consists of elevating oneself to seem more important than the other person -- in the form of an Instagram video on Thursday:

"It's only cuz you wear ***ing heels all the time," says Sheeran in the clip, in an attempt to defend himself. In response, Swift holds up one foot.

"Look what I did for you today!" she says.

Sometimes, friendship is as simple as wearing flat shoes.
