One Ted Cruz is a lot to handle. Two Ted Cruzes standing next to each other wearing matching World Series rings is the stuff of nightmares.

Everyone naively assumed this scenario was something we'd never have to deal with, but thanks to Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts and the magic of faceswap, we have now seen things that can't possibly be unseen.

The Cubs clinched a highly anticipated World Series victory in 2016, of course, and visited the White House to see Barack Obama. But because Ricketts is a huge Trump fan, the World Series trophy made its way to the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday, and the team paid a visit to the 45th president on Wednesday.

Here we have a normal photograph of Ted Cruz standing alongside Ricketts, which the senator posted to Twitter.

And here we have a horrifying faceswap of the two men — which somehow gave the world two Ted Cruzes.

Naturally, once the internet got wind of Ted Cruz standing next to a shorter Ted/Tom Cruz, things got wild.

Though the lookalike comparisons are not new, after the two were photographed together, Cruz decided to weigh in on the resemblance. He tweeted his sympathies to Tom after realizing people keep "insulting" the Cubs owner by saying he looks like Cruz. As for Ricketts? Well, he's been denying the resemblance for YEARS. (Ouch).

Back in 2016, Ricketts told USA Today, "I’ve had people walking up really believing I’m Ted Cruz. I think from a lot of the photo angles it may look that way, but in person you can see the difference."

MMMMMmmmmmkay buddy, whatever you need to tell yourself.

Never forget.
