Tesco pulls popular brands and people are losing it
British supermarket Tesco has stopped selling popular household brands after a price dispute with its major supplier, Unilever.
Products such as Marmite, PG Tips (tea), Pot Noodle and Surf washing powder are currently unavailable from the supermarket's website.
The row began when Unilever proposed a 10% price increase because of the falling value of the pound against the euro and the dollar, after Britain's decision to leave the EU.

“We are experiencing availability issues on a number of Unilever products. We always work to ensure customers get the best possible prices and we hope to have this issue resolved soon," a Tesco spokesman said.
The decision predictably caused hysteria on Twitter, as people reacted with the hashtag #MarmiteGate:

The value of pound sterling has dropped by 16% against the euro since the referendum vote.
UPDATE: Oct. 13, 2016, 6:23 p.m. BST On Thursday it was reported that the dispute between Unilever and Tesco had been resolved.
