It was worth the wait.

The wait is finally over.

After months of hype and anticipation, Tesla has finally given us our first peek at the interior of the Model 3 and, well, it was worth the wait.

The interior is every bit as sleek and minimalist as we expected. The most prominent feature is the 15-inch digital display, which has more of a landscape orientation than Tesla's other cars. Note that, as Musk confirmed to a disappointed Tesla fan earlier this year, there is no speedometer (or any kind of gauge, for that matter) behind the wheel.

Close observers will notice that there are very few buttons or controls of any kind, which makes sense considering Tesla's autopilot ambitions.

After the dash, the most striking feature is undoubtedly the nearly all-glass roof that extends all the way back to the rear of the of the car. Tesla has said this is meant to help the relatively compact Model 3 look and feel bigger from the inside.

Then there's the three rear passenger seats, which can fold down to provide extra storage space. It's difficult to tell from the images just how spacious it is back there, but Musk has emphasized in the past that it was designed so that three adults could sit comfortably (though, let's be honest, "comfortably" depends a lot on the size of the adults in question).

And, finally, one more shot of that sleek, sleek, dash. It's striking just how minimalist it is, even compared to Tesla's previous cars.

Luckily, now that the first batch of 30 Model 3s have officially made it out of the factory and into the hands of their owners, we can be sure that there will be many more photos and videos to come in the days ahead.

So even though the rest of us won't be able to get our hands on the real deal just yet, at least we'll have a lot more Tesla porn to tide us over while we wait.
