Tesla updates the Model S with Model X nose, faster charging, more décor

Starting Tuesday, the Model S now looks more like the Model X. Additionally, it now offers the Tesla HEPA air filtration system.

Tesla fans, I hope you like the blunt-nose Model X look because the Model S now has it, too.

Tesla has officially refreshed the Model S, which, as the company reminds, is in keeping with the company's efforts to make its "vehicles get better over time."

More than just a new nose and headlights, the Model S interior received an update as well. The Tesla HEPA air filtration system that first debuted on the Model X, and includes a Bioweapon Defense mode, is now available on Model S.

In addition, the standard Model S charger has been upgraded from 40 amps to 48 amps. This enables faster charging when connected to higher amperage chargers.

Lastly, customers now have two new trim décor choices: Figured Ash Wood Décor and Dark Ash Wood Décor.

These changes go into effect at the company's Fremont, California factory Tuesday.
