LOS ANGELES -- Raven-Symoné is exiting The View after less than two seasons with the daytime talk show, but she's staying inside the Disney family.

The actress and host announced on Thursday morning's show that she'd be leaving The View before the end of the year to develop and star in a spinoff to her Disney Channel series, That's So Raven, which ran from 2003 to 2007.

Raven-Symoné will also executive produce the untitled spinoff, which revisits her character, Raven Baxter, now a divorced mother to two pre-teen kids (a son and daughter), one of whom has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future.

Casting is currently underway for the series, which is in the early stages of development with writer-producers Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff (Best Friends Whenever, R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour).

That's So Raven was Disney Channel's first original multi-camera production; the series ran for 100 episodes and created another short-lived spinoff, Cory in the House, which aired from 2007-2008.
