A pair of 13-year-old best friends, one Jewish and one Muslim, teamed up to create a costume celebrating their religions and their friendship.

Thus they designed "the Juslims," two superhero best friends.

Jeff Pearlman, father of one of the superheroes, explained the costume's message to Buzzfeed, saying, "There’s just so much hostility in the air and in this election season." He continued on to say that “this was just a refreshing, innocent reminder that we don’t have to be this way. We do not have to let this divisiveness take over right now.”"

People on Twitter agreed with the sentiment and celebrated the girls' cleverness and integrity.

Casey Pearlman and Yasmin Idris, the geniuses behind the costume, told Buzzfeed what they hoped to achieve with their creation.

Casey explained why she thinks the tweet has gone viral, saying “I think a lot of people find it really interesting that kids are standing up against a lot of what’s happening in the media and the world right now. People were impressed that kids realize that and want to change something."

When asked what the superpower of the Juslims, Yasmin responded, "To watch each other's back."

If you're still throwing together a costume for tonight, consider following in the Juslims footsteps and using it as a chance to advocate for positive change.
