New Year's Day 2021 has its pluses and minuses for fans of The Office.

On the one hand, the beloved NBC sitcom has finally made the dreaded transition from Netflix to Peacock — leaving plenty of Dunder Mifflin motivated subscribers scrambling to get on the new streaming service. (Yes, you can watch Seasons 1 and 2 of The Office on Peacock for free, but Seasons 3 through 9 are gonna cost ya $4.99 per month with ads or $9.99 per month without ads.)

On the other hand, Peacock is welcoming The Office and its fanbase with tons of extra content — including a never-before-seen cold open filmed for the series' finale.

In the nearly five-minute clip (available below), Jim and Pam go to extreme lengths to convince Dwight he is living in a real-world extension of the Matrix trilogy. There are scary guys in suits, some cryptic computer messages, a really well-trained cat, and the late Hugh Dane as Hank the security guard doing his best Laurence Fishburne impression. Check it out:

For more unseen footage, Peacock subscribers can watch The Office: Superfan Episodes — extended The Office cuts that will be released on Peacock over the coming months. (Right now, only Season 3 is complete, but more Superfan Episodes are expected in March.)

Plus, Peacock has The Office bloopers, featurettes, cast and crew interviews, curated episode collections based on themes, playlists of the series' best clips, an ambient noise channel to make your work-from-home situation feel more like an office, and this early aughts desktop-style website full of Easter eggs. Oh, and yeah, Meredith and Oscar blew up some jello to celebrate 2021. Sure, we miss the ease of having The Office on Netflix, but all this extra content? That doesn't suck.

The Office is now streaming on Peacock.
