It was done with love.

Nothing says, "I love you, bro" like a smile and a middle finger.

The prestigious People Choice Awards aired Wednesday night, basically just giving Ellen Degeneres another opportunity to win an award and show off The Rock and Kevin Hart's budding bromance.

Hart's acceptance speech for Favorite Comedic Movie Actor was filled with thanks, but when it came time to recognize his bro The Rock, it was another matter.

"Except The Rock, because he hasn’t helped me," Hart said. "He hasn’t helped me at all. You’ve actually lessened my talent. It went down since you’ve been in my life."

The camera cut to The Rock, who loving tossed Hart the bird just before CBS camera cut away.

Poor Americans must have been tainted with the sight of that erect middle finger. How could this possibly happen?

The Rock eventually got his revenge, and cussed out Hart in front of the entire crowd while accepting his award for Favorite Premium Series Actor. But CBS was prepared this time, and bleeped the whole thing out.

If this has taught us anything, it's to find someone who looks at you the same way The Rock looks at Kevin Hart.
