Amazon to the rescue: 'The Tick' pilot coming to Prime
LOS ANGELES -- The Tick is coming to Amazon, Mashable has confirmed.
Ben Edlund, who created the comic book character as well as the 2001 Fox comedy and 1994 animation series, is signed on as writer and executive producer.

Amazon has ordered a pilot for a Sony Pictures TV- produced reboot, which Deadline reports will star Barry Josephson, Griffin Newman and Valorie Curry. Unlike most pilot orders, there's a real good chance we'll actually see it, since it's slated for Amazon Prime.
Tick -- a spoof of comic book superheroes -- is a newsletter mascot for the New England Comics chain of Boston area comic stores.
The Fox live-action series was just 9 episodes but became a cult classic, just like the animated series which ran for three seasons in the '90s.
