WARNING: This post contains spoilers about The Walking Dead's Season 6 finale.

As promised, Negan -- Mayor of Pee-pee Pants City -- has arrived. And he's a dick -- a killer dick.

The problem? We don't know who he's killed.

The Walking Dead left us hanging with a cruel cliffhanger. The fate of almost every main character is up in the air after a final moment that showed Negan bringing down his beloved Lucille onto one of the gang.

On the chopping block? Daryl, Michonne, Rick, Carl, Rosita, Abraham, Aaron, Glenn, Maggie, Eugene, and Sasha. Of course the show faded to black before we learned which one is a goner.

In a way, it'd almost be best if the chosen one were Eugene. Don't get me wrong: He'd be missed. But the gang actually got in their goodbyes for him earlier in the episode.

Let me back up...

About two thirds of the finale was spent building up the tension. Over and over, the Alexandria crew would hit a road block set up by the Saviors, retreat, then regroup.

Road block of 16 dirty-looking dudes with guns? Retreat, regoup. Road block of walkers (two of which had eerily familiar qualities)? Retreat, regroup. Road block of fire logs and a hanging man? Retreat, regroup.

Their plan hit new levels of desperation when they decided to abandon their RV altogether and carry Maggie to the Hilltop on foot. Eugene was the sole member not to head out with the rest. Instead, he took the RV. He was supposed to lead the Saviors on a wild goose chase.

Before he exited, we saw goodbyes, thank yous, and bro hugs.

Unfortunately, that plan somehow put the gang right in the path of Negan and his Katniss-esque whistling crew.

Frustrating as that ending was, Negan's introduction was well worth the wait.

He made his entrance by menacingly exiting the RV, quickly making clear to Rick that he was not happy with how many of his men had been killed by the Alexandria crew.

"Not cool. You have no idea how not cool that sh*t is," he said.

So someone would have to pay, Negan said. And as for the rest? He declared them new employees. Their job will now be to find stuff and give it to Negan. Basically, Negan's the ultimate schoolyard bully.

"This is your way of life now. The more you fight back, the harder it will be," he said. "I want you to work for me. You can'd do that if you're dead now, can you?"

As Negan said, that's going to be a hard pill for the group to swallow. But we have to wait until October to find out if they swallow it at all.

Carol, interrupted

Over in B plot land, Morgan was able to track down Carol, who continued to struggle with her mental -- and physical -- health. She was losing blood quickly from a gunshot wound she suffered during her encounter with the Saviors.

After Morgan lost track of her, Carol was lured into a trap by a stray Savior who had somehow survived her ambush. He tried to kill her slowly, but his plan went to hell after Morgan came upon the both of them and shot that guy dead.

Carol had actually been at peace with death leading up to that moment -- and after being saved by Morgan, she was kind of pissed.

"Please let me go," she said.

"It's not your time," he replied. "You're going to come back from this."

Of course, we can't say that about everyone at this point.

Spare parts:

  • That scene with Maggie and Rick in the RV was great.

  • That zombie Michonne/Daryl fakeout was a nice touch. Those Saviors sure are crafty.

  • What do you think Enid is doing in that closet right now?

  • Were you as excited as I was about the arrival of these post-apocalyptic knights?
