The 'Thor: Ragnarok' trailer just broke a huge Disney record
The Marvel machine ain't losing steam any time soon. The teaser trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, which debuted on Monday, racked up a record 136 million views in its first 24 hours, making it the highest viewed trailer debut for Marvel and Disney to date.
That title previously belonged to Beauty and the Beast, whose trailer passed 127 million in its first day online. At the time, it was the biggest trailer debut in history, before being dethroned by Fate of the Furious and later still by Stephen King's It. The most viewed Marvel trailer before Ragnarok was for 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
It even inspired a little video mashup of a certain other costumed hero conglomerate witnessing Thor's success:
