One of the most talked about topics regarding Apple's new AirPods is the concern of some that the slippery devices will, like EarPods, slip out of your ears and get lost.

Tim Cook finally answered those concerns in an interview on Good Morning America on Wednesday.

When host Robin Roberts asked him about the issue of losing the pricey ($159) devices, Cook immediately went into Apple presentation mode.

First describing the design and functionality of the AirPods' magnetic case, he then offered a new perspective on a question many have been asking.

"I've been wearing them [AirPods] for a while," said Cook. "And because they don't have wires on them… The wires tend to help the earbud to fall out, because it applies weight on those. By snipping the wires, I have never personally had one [AirPod] fall out."

So that's been the problem all these years, the wires!

For some, Cook's reasoning may bring back memories of the "you're holding it wrong" excuses given during the iPhone 4's "antennagate" debacle. But in this case, Apple's explanation at least appears to make sense.

Without the wires pulling down on the EarPods, logic would dictate that there would be fewer occasions for the devices, which share the same earbud design as the AirPods, to slip out.

"I've been on treadmills, walking, doing all the things that I'd normally do," said Cook in describing the situations when he used the AirPods successfully without having them slip out.

However, only real world testing by users with all kinds of ear canal shapes will truly give us a conclusive answer. The AirPods will be available in late October, so we'll know soon.
