Timothée Chalamet, the fast-rising actor and recent star of Call Me By Your Name, has donated his salary from the upcoming Woody Allen film A Rainy Day in New York to charity.

Chalamet has said he'll be giving the salary to the Time's Up campaign, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), and New York's LGBT Center.

He took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to explain his decision:

Woody Allen has previously been accused of sexual abuse by his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow, who wrote an open letter in The New York Times in 2014 giving a detailed account of events she says took place when she was seven years old. Allen responded with his own open letter denying the allegations.

In the wake of the #TimesUp movement, a number of actors have been questioned about their decision to work with Allen. Greta Gerwig announced last week that she will not work with him again, and Mira Sorvino wrote a letter apologising to Farrow for appearing in the director's film Mighty Aphrodite back in 1995. Over the weekend, Rebecca Hall -- who also co-stars with Chalamet in A Rainy Day in New York -- shared a post on Instagram announcing that she's donated her wage from the film to Time's Up.

Dylan Farrow, meanwhile, has been calling out other actors on Twitter who have previously worked with Allen but are now supporting the campaign:
