The rise of the Tinder drinking game
You can pretty much turn anything into a drinking game if you try hard enough, so why not Tinder?
The basic concept is to drink whenever a user's profile matches one of the rules of the game. If you get a match, drink. If you encounter a group picture where you can't tell who's profile it is, drink. If you've already hooked up with the person, take a shot.

There are plenty of variations of the Tinder drinking game. Though closed now, one Reddit thread shares different rules people have created themselves. BroBible and LifeHacker have versions for both men and women, and this user posted her rules on Twitter:
The idea is so popular that tinderdrinkgame.com is constantly being updated with new rules and encourages people to send in their own. Users also contribute their worst moments, embarrassing profiles, cringe-worthy descriptions and whatever this is:
Jeff Booth, creator of the website, told Mashable,"I think the idea that you're scrolling through people in your area that you know or have met makes it even more enjoyable, and I have incorporated that in a few of the rules...My friends and I usually hook up a phone to a smart TV or iPad and play on a large TV or projector, and have even had it going at a bar before."
Booth's website was created in 2015, but there are probably plenty of people thinking, "hey, I did this before it was mainstream."
Some games include fairly misogynistic rules, and it's clear that unfair snap judgments are part of nearly every version of the game. But ironically, dating apps were designed to prey on snap judgments and quick gestures that are the building blocks of these games.
The argument is that each game can be customized and/or broadened to include a variety of backgrounds. Women absolutely can play, and have created their own versions of the game:
But as always, with drinking and dating, be safe. And don't be a giant a-hole.
