The internet certainly is a small place.

Haley, 22, from Houston, Texas posted on reddit about being unmatched by another person on the dating app Tinder, after answering a hypothetical question about a killer snail.

"You and a super intelligent snail both get 1 million dollars, and you both become immortal, however you die if the snail touches you. It always know where you are and slowly crawls toward you. What's your plan?" the question from her former match Walker reads.

Despite giving a thorough reply, Haley found herself unmatched -- meaning the message thread disappears. She saved the screenshots though, and well, it's a good response.

"I was a little surprised because I figured there was a lot of material to work with my response for more conversation," Haley explained via reddit private message.

"And also I almost physically felt my ego drop down a few pegs." Somehow, Walker found the post on reddit and felt compelled to reply. Turns out he didn't hate the answer at all.

Haley's response is even better.

Haley said she was initially taken aback by Walker's post, but eventually warmed to him. An apparent friend of Walker's posted a photo of him, which has been taken down since.

"At first it was 'oh god no,' because who wants the guy who unmatched you to be able to see your reddit account?" she said.

"It's kind of a sacred space of anonymity that Tinder matches are definitely not supposed to see until after they've already figured out how weird you are. But he was really cool about the whole thing, and I felt way better once he said he couldn't figure out why he’d unmatched me in the first place. Ego restored."

And of course, it looks like they'll be going on a date.

Haley hasn't planned a date with Walker yet, as she's out of town, but they've messaged back and forth a few times since the post.

"I don't know how it'll go yet, but I know he has a dog, so that alone raises the inherent goodness of any date we may have," she said.

So far, Haley post has more than 39,000 upvotes and counting. We're keeping our fingers crossed for this unlikely pair.
