Titanfall 2 is coming this fall, but an upcoming "technical test" will let anyone with a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One try it out this month.

The test will span August's two remaining weekends, with one kicking off on Friday, Aug. 19 and the second on Friday, Aug. 26. During these weekend windows, anyone with a supported console and internet connection will be able to download the test and play at their leisure.

The first weekend's test features two maps -- Boomtown and Homestead -- and two modes of play. One is a basic 8v8 team deathmatch mode that pits Pilots against Pilots, with no Titan mechs to help them. The other, Bounty Hunt, a new 5v5 mode in which earned points only count if you bank them in your team's base.

The second weekend introduces a new map -- Forward Base Kodai -- and another mode to go with it. In the 6v6 Amped Hardpoint mode, teams fight to commandeer control points. Defending teams then earn double points for holding that location.

The test will also let players mess around with two of Titanfall 2's new Titans, Ion and Scorch. A handful of Pilot abilities and weapons will be unlocked, including the new grappling hook and a double-barreled SMG.

The one thing you definitely won't see during either of the tests is Titanfall 2's story mode. For that, you'll have to wait until the game comes to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 28.
