The people behind TLC's 'No Scrubs' just got a writing credit on that Ed Sheeran song stuck in your head

What do a 26-year-old redhead from England and a '90s R&B girl group from the United States have in common?

A song, apparently.

Ed Sheeran's latest inescapable chart-topper "Shape of You" just got a few new writers -- and they're none other than brains behind TLC's hit "No Scrubs."

It's not clear why songwriters Kandi Burruss, Tameka Cottle, and producer Kevin Briggs were added to ASCAP's listing for the song, both Burruss and Cottle have confirmed the addition via Instagram.

People began to notice the similarities between "No Scrubs" and "Shape of You" weeks ago, sharing their realization on social media through tweets and covers.

This isn't Sheeran's first time treading these waters. The singer-songwriter faced legal action from Marvin Gaye's family for allegedly copying his 1973 hit "Let's Get It On."
