Your mind and body may still be struggling to process that there will indeed be a new Season of Sherlock, and production is moving forward at full speed.

That includes casting, and along with Sherlock mainstays, actor Toby Jones will join Season 4 as an unknown bad guy.

“I'm excited and intrigued by the character I shall be playing in Sherlock," Jones said in a PBS press release.

Series co-creator Steven Moffat had slightly more to tease.

"Delighted to have Toby Jones on board, bringing to life one of Doyle’s finest villains," he said.

Jones acts mainly in films, but appeared most recently on television as an enigmatic scientist in FOX's Wayward Pines

"We're thrilled to welcome one of our finest actors to the Sherlock family," said co-creator Mark Gatiss, who also plays Mycroft Holmes. "I know Toby will embrace the part with true relish!"

Jones will appear in the second episode, helmed by Nick Hurran, who also directed Season 3's "His Last Vow." Filming begins today.
