New England nearly fell apart in panic, thanks to Tom Brady's first ever tweet.

The Patriots quarterback finally joined the rest of us on the hell site Twitter on Monday. Conveniently announcing his retirement April Fools' Day, Brady added that in his spare time, he'll be tweeting.

"#LFG" he tweeted. If you're live a blissfully offline life, that means "Let's Fucking Go."

Some Patriots fans forgot April Fool's Day is the internet's holiest of days, and took the joke seriously.

Others didn't find the joke funny at all.

And Twitter users also hoped it was real.

If you're tired of the Patriots making it to the Super Bowl every freaking year, Brady unfortunately followed up with, "Was this a bad joke?"

Yes. Yes it is. It's not even clever.

Boston.com notes that while Brady's post-2019 contract is still in the works, the 41-year-old quarterback is far from retirement.

We can all dream, though.
