Tom Hanks sent this fan a Polaroid selfie and letter, because that's just what he does these days
Tom Hanks might be everyone's favorite Hollywood nice guy, but lately, the Academy Award-winning actor has instead embraced the role of everyone's favorite pen pal.
After a fan shipped Hanks a letter along with a selfie, the actor took some time to respond back with a note (written on a typewriter, of course). He even included a Polaroid selfie with the fan's own photograph.

In the letter, posted to Reddit, Hanks tells the fan his thoughts about Toronto ("Growing fast, all those condo towers down on the lake") and asks her whether or not she's prepared for Christmas.
"For the record, I still find myself humming some of the music from That Thing You Do!, like you," he wrote, before explaining his fear of watching the Polaroid picture of him develop, a lovely shot that shows off some "whiskers" he's grown for an upcoming project.
This isn't the first time Hanks has blessed a fan with a heartwarming note. In November, he sent a typewriter and a letter to an artist who had gifted him a sketchbook.
