He made his name for his intense, laconic performances in films like Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant -- and his mouthwatering bedtime stories -- but Tom Hardy is also a real-life superhero, at least according to reports on British media.

The actor was reportedly seen apprehending a suspected moped thief after chasing him Hollywood-style through gardens and a building site in Richmond, southwest London.

A witness told The Sun that Hardy "switched into superhero mode" and uttered "I caught the c***t" after finding the man.

“I asked Tom what happened and he told me he chased him through my back garden and caught him around the block — but the route was like an assault course," the witness said.

The chase started after two men jumped a red light at a busy junction and crashed the moped into a £50,000 Mercedes near Hardy's home in Richmond.

Another onlooker said Hardy told him: “This little s*** nicked something and now he’s got himself a broken leg.”

While we still don't whether it actually happened or not, the incredible story made people very thirsty on Twitter:
