Top Gear is going into overdrive.

When the car series returns in May, fans of the show are going to get a second helping of the fun thanks to Extra Gear, a new after show that will be presented by Top Gear host Rory Reid.

"Extra Gear is hugely exciting. The Top Gear fans are some of the keenest in the world and with this show I'm giving them a chance to really get a peek behind the curtain," Reid said in a statement via BBC America, who made the announcement Tuesday. "I'm looking forward to showing them how the show is made, what the stars and celebrities are really like, who can really drive (and who can't), what goes on behind the scenes and giving them a different perspective on some of the coolest cars on the planet."

According to the network, the new series will help fans get "closer to the Top Gear action than ever before" with exclusive footage, interviews and behind the scenes access.

Sarah Barnett, president and general manager of BBC AMERICA added: "After shows are a fantastic reward for passionate fans, and you don’t get more avid fans than the viewers of Top Gear. All the scoop and double the car fix on Top Gear Mondays on BBC America!"

This announcement comes after Orphan Black scored its own after show on BBC America just a few weeks back.

Here's the trailer for the new season of Top Gear, which does not yet have a specific premiere date.
