Hot tip: if your tortoise is feeling lonely but you don't want to buy another tortoise, you can make him a best friend.

All you need is time, motivation, and a solid bread recipe:

That bread tortoise was made by cartoonist Neil Slorance from Glasgow, Scotland.

The creation went down well on Twitter:

People couldn't get enough of Herman and his doughy new pal.

Of course, there was only really one way the whole thing could end...
