Forky is us, we are Forky.

The first trailer for Toy Story 4 confirmed that all of the franchise's favorite characters would return for another adventure, but one new character has stolen the spotlight from Woody and Buzz for a reason no one could possibly expect.

That character is Forky. Forky doesn't want to be here.

As seen in the trailer, Forky is a plastic spork that Bonnie decorated in school. By giving him googly eyes and popsicle stick feet, she breathed toy life into his disposable form and adopted him as her new favorite plaything.

Unfortunately for Forky, sporks aren't meant to be sentient in the Toy Story universe, and his vocal dislike for existing is what people on the internet are calling a Big Mood.

One moment in particular, when Forky (Christ, this is dark) throws himself out the window of a moving recreational vehicle has resonated strongly with his audience.

Everyone seems to know a Forky, or is a Forky unto themselves.

While others likened him to other pop culture icons who have experienced notable existential crises, like Michael from The Good Place.

The rest of the trailer promises an uplifting emotional arc for Forky, who seems to come to terms with his place in the universe. Still, who can't relate to feeling like they were meant for the trash and instead find themselves embraced by people who love them?

All hail Forky, the spork-toy who embraces the void.
