Watch this amazing Optimus Prime toy actually transform on its own

OK, that's impressive.

I wish the Optimus Prime toys I had when I was a kid could do this.

A China-based robot manufacturer has breathed life into a Transformers toy, allowing it to actually transition between standing and truck state -- all on its own.

Senpower Beijing posted the video of its Optimus Prime in action on Weibo:

In the cartoons, the leader of the good guy Autobots transforms from his standing state by falling forward and becoming a semi truck.

But since that defies the law of physics, you can see how Senpower's robot cleverly turns its torso around, to collapse into the right shape. Pretty darn innovative.

That design choice also allows the bot to go right back up from truck position to standing hero pose.

Here's another video of the Transformer pre-paint job, executing the move in reverse. Bravo!
