With the death of A Tribe Called Quest co-founder Phife earlier this year, one could have assumed that was it, when it came to new material from the iconic hip-hop group.

Q-Tip revealed in a handwritten letter on his Facebook page on Thursday that there will be a final album released on Nov. 11. That's just two weeks away.

The date marks the same day the group reunited for a performance on The Tonight Show a year ago, sparking inspiration for new music.

"It was our 1st TV performance in 18 years. The energy for us that night was one we hadn't experienced on stage together in some time," he wrote.

"As we left 30 Rock I felt the need, we all did, to get back to the studio and start that cookup!! SO WE GOT TO IT!!"

Q-Tip, real name Kamaal Ibn John Fareed, added that the new music was "coming together nicely" until the sudden death of Phife in March.

But there was enough of a "blueprint" left by Phife, which was finished off this year by the original members of the group, alongside friends and rappers Busta Rhymes and Consequence.

It's yet to be confirmed what the new album's title will be. But for the truest of Tribe fans -- there's life after death.

Correction: The date of the release is Nov. 11, not Nov. 13 as originally stated in the article.
