An ever-growing annual flirtation between New York's Tribeca Film Festival and interactive entertainment has finally boiled over into a standalone event.

On April 28 and 29, the annual film fest will partner with Kill Screen for the new Tribeca Games Festival. The two-day event will bring together some of the biggest creative and cultural leaders in video games for a series of talks, panels and peeks behind the scenes.

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima will deliver one of three keynote "conversations," along with BioShock creator Ken Levine and Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake, creator of Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break. There's an easy-to-spot theme here: these are all master storytellers.

In addition to the keynotes, Tribeca Games Festival attendees will also have a chance to check out cross-conversation talks that pair game creators with "leading artists and filmmakers" and "Retro Active" behind-the-scenes looks at some of the top games of 2016.

There's also an extensive deep dive planned for virtual reality, including a 25th anniversary celebration of the '90s horror flick The Lawnmower Man(!!!!!!). Brett Leonard, the film's director, will be joined by Google's "Principal Filmmaker for VR" Jessica Brillhart and Cy Wise, of Job Simulator creator Owlchemy Labs.

On top of all that, attendees will be able to check out a handful of special events, including a Mura Masa concert and Telltale Games' first-ever crowd-play for the first episode of its upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy series.

You can check out the full lineup of speakers and purchase tickets -- which offer different access for different prices -- right here.
