Former U.S. president Donald Trump has been indicted again, and is insisting he's innocent again.

Trump was previously indicted in March, with criminal charges relating to his alleged hush money payments to adult entertainer Stormy Daniels. This new indictment concerns his handling of classified documents after his presidency, with federal prosecutors charging Trump with violating the Espionage Act.

He has been called to appear in a Miami Federal Court on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET and reportedly faces at least seven charges. These allegedly include willful retention of national defense information, obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and making false statements. Further details are not yet available, as the indictment is under seal.

In response to the charges brought against him, Trump has made several posts on his social media network Truth Social.

"I AM AN INNOCENT MAN," Trump wrote as the news broke on Thursday night (emphasis original). "THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS TOTALLY CORRUPT. THIS IS ELECTION INTERFERENCE & A CONTINUATION OF THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

He also posted a four-minute video in which he called the indictment "a hoax" and "warfare," expressing his indignant assertion that the charges against him have no merit, and are merely a ploy by Democrats designed to curb his popularity. Trump's views were echoed in clips he subsequently shared from conservative media outlets Fox News and Newsmax, which both criticised his indictment.

Trump's previous indictment in March made him the first former U.S. president in history to face criminal charges. This second indictment now puts him even further ahead in an incredibly dubious category.

The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is "secured" by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time.

I have been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM. I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!

This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America. We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!
