Donald Trump, it seems, was not internet-prepared for the announcement of Indiana governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate.

On Friday, the Republican presidential candidate announced to the world via his medium of choice, Twitter, that he would be bringing Pence along for the ride.

Politico reporter Shane Goldmacher was quick to point out that almost nothing was ready for Pence's moment of glory.

Not only are there a bunch of squatters sitting on important URLs such as Trumppence.com, even Trump's website hasn't been updated for the important announcement.

Perhaps, the worst fears of Trump's team had come true and the billionaire announced his VP pick on social media without warning, despite saying he would wait to do it "the old fashioned way." Either way, missed opportunities have appeared everywhere.

Here, Goldmacher takes you through everything that should have been done to roll out a VP pick in the year 2016:

1. Probably a good idea to first update the website.

2. Then update Mike Pence's Twitter bio -- perhaps even a new headshot could work.

3. Remove Pence's pinned tweet that doesn't relate to Trump.

(Someone was listening at Team Pence, the pinned tweet has since been removed.)

4. Consider spending some money with that big search company, Google.

5. Get your domains from the squatters and competitors.

6. Put something, anything Trump on Pence's website.

7. Still awaiting press release.

8. One step in the right direction for Team TrumpPence.

9. The Instagram fans continue to wait.

10. Pretty much no updates. So, Pence fans flocked to Wikipedia.

11. Poor Mike Pence, not even a handle link.

12. No text for you!

13. Save your money, people, Trump doesn't need it.

Let's hope Team Trump was listening.
