Trump won an award from the Committee to Protect Journalists
Donald Trump may have delayed his own "MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR," but in the meantime he's picked up a coveted prize himself: the Committee to Protect Journalists' Overall Achievement in Undermining Global Press Freedom award.
The CPJ announced its own Press Oppressor awards Monday, and Trump joined such illustrious leaders as Vladimir Putin, Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Egypt's Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the winners' podium.
The awards aim to recognize "world leaders who have gone out of their way to attack the press and undermine the norms that support freedom of the media."
Erdoğan scooped the Most Thin-Skinned accolade as a result of the Turkish government's efforts to charge journalists critical of the leader, with Trump bagging the runner-up position for his multitude of attacks on the press.

Most Outrageous Use of Terror Laws Against the Press went to Erdoğan, thanks to the number of jailed journalists in the country, with el-Sisi a close second. Tightest Grip on Media was won by China's Xi Jinping, thanks to the country's censorship and internet controls. Putin was runner-up.
Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi won Biggest Backslider in Press Freedom, besting President Andrzej Duda of Poland.
