Even though Donald Trump didn't actually make an appearance during this week's Saturday Night Live, his convincing impersonator Alec Baldwin made the show great again.

So great, in fact, that NBC reported Saturday's episode brought in the highest ratings to the show since January 2011, when Jim Carrey hosted and The Black Keys performed after an NFL game. This week's show received a 7.2 rating without the help of a football game.

Trump would be sad to know that the episode he hosted two years ago got nowhere near as many viewers as Saturday's broadcast, which was almost entirely devoted to mocking him.

Back in 2015, his episode garnered a 6.6 rating, and he made sure to let everyone know how great that was.

Since he was elected, and SNL has used Trump's antics as fodder for countless sketches and cold openings, he hasn't had such kind words for the show.

This season has averaged about 7.38 million viewers per episode, according to NBC, but totals aren't in yet for this weekend's episode. More finalized viewer numbers are expected Tuesday from Nielsen.
