It's lit: Turkish soccer fans torch stadium after team gets relegated
Turkish soccer club Eskisehirspor's season ended in ignominy Sunday. The team was relegated from Turkey's top professional league down to the lower tiers following a poor 2016 campaign.
A 2-1 home loss Sunday put a final nail in the dead season's coffin. Eskisehirspor's fans responded with measure and reason after the final whistle blew.
Haha just kidding.

They raided the pitch at Eskisehir Ataturk Stadium, trashed the facility and started several fires.
After the loss to Medipol Basaksehir, fans rushed from the stands onto the pitch, according to multiple reports. They flipped the goals and ignited debris. Many other small fires then were lit in the stands.

Eskisehirspor is set to move in to a brand new home park next season. Perhaps these fans wouldn't have been so destructive if they knew Eskisehir Ataturk Stadium would be their team's grounds again. Then again, there's no excuse to acting out so boorishly. The new stadium should be immaculate for Eskisehirspor's move down to the second division.
