Twitter couldn't decide if it was up or down and tweeps got emotional
Twitter won't stop playing with our emotions.
The social media platform was available only intermittently from late Tuesday morning local time (AEST) with availability going in and out globally almost every few minutes. The issue appeared to be affecting its use on browsers, but not the Twitter app.
A Twitter spokesperson pointed Mashable to the company's status page, which said it was investigating an active incident. "Some users may be experiencing issues reaching twitter.com," it read. Mobile apps and api are not affected."

At around 12.40 p.m. AEST, Twitter said all systems were again operational.

Because they are dedicated, and because it's the only way to deal with technological mind games, people tweeted about the Twitter outage. When their tweets could make it through those internal server issues, that is.

While everything again seems (vaguely) functional in the Twitterverse, this is a good time to remember the iconic "fail whale" error message of yesteryear.
Retired in 2013, the whale was a much friendlier face to see during a crisis than that new robot Twitter has going on.
