Syracuse player hits March Madness three-pointer while missing a shoe
March Madness is known for its ability to surprise. But this -- this takes things in a different direction.
Syracuse player Tyler Lydon hit a three-pointer Sunday during his team's Elite Eight game against Virginia. That's all well and good -- but what's crazy is that Lydon took (and made!) the shot with only one shoe on.

Here's the play distilled in Vine form. Watch as Lydon feels his left shoe coming loose, then decides to simply kick it off and away toward the sideline -- then coolly collects a pass on the right wing and drains the three.
Here's a longer video, which is even better because it shows Lydon catching the ball, head-faking and taking one dribble before putting up his one-shoe shot.
So not only did Tyler Lydon hit a three-pointer with one shoe on in March Madness. He hit a stepback three-pointer with one shoe on in March Madness.
That makes him a bonafide legend in our book.
What's more, Syracuse won to book itself a Final Four trip. But the game was close, 68-62, proving that Lydon's novelty shot actually meant something in the final analysis.
