LOS ANGELES -- What better way to celebrate Ellen DeGeneres' video platform than with a viral video star?

YouTube king Tyler Oakley -- who recently completed CBS' The Amazing Race -- stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to host a celebration of the best of videos on EllenTube.

"As you can tell I'm not Ellen but she really did leave me in charge," Oakley said, before introducing some of his favorite clips on EllenTube.

Among them: A video of 7-year-old dancer Balang.

The episode was the latest in DeGeneres' efforts to tie her show to the digital space. In May, during NewFronts, she announced the launch of her own network (Ellen Digital Network).

The popular on-air personality has become somewhat of a digital powerhouse in the last couple of years, building a huge following both on the show's account and her own personal pages. She has amassed more than 1.1 billion total cross-platform views, according to a Tubular survey from November 2015.

EllenTube, her own version of YouTube, has been home to "hundreds of thousands of videos" uploaded by users, DeGeneres said during the episode.

"I launched it [EllenTube] because I wanted there to be one spot to see hilarious videos or videos that make you feel good without seeing any hoo-has or chimichanga."

Oakley, who also appeared on the show last year, has signed a development deal with Ellen DigitalNetwork.

The two will collaborate on a range of original digital projects with an aim toward developing projects for television as well.
