While it's always been simple for Uber riders to quickly evaluate potential drivers, it's long been a chore for riders to figure out what drivers think of them.

Now, that information will be readily available — Uber is finally making it easier to see your rider rating.

Uber's latest update — announced Wednesday via blog post — makes a rider's rating pop up right under their name in the app.

In other words, now you can't hide from your Uber ratings.

The new ratings display is part of Uber's ongoing effort to become more driver-friendly. The idea is to make riders more cognizant of how they behave while in the back seat. If a rider sees he's got a 2.8 out of five stars, then maybe he'll think about not using his hands as blunt drum sticks whenever he gets inside an Uber, or do any other thing that may be troublesome for Uber drivers.

The update also includes a change to UberPOOL ratings.

While UberPOOLS help riders by offering a cheaper ride option, but the service can be less-than-And desirable for drivers and drivers' ratings. Sometimes users give drivers bad ratings because the route — over which the driver has limited control — took too long, or because the passenger next to them puked on their feet.

Now, instead of having those bad ratings count against the driver, riders who rate a pool ride less than five stars will be asked to provide a reason. If that reason doesn't have much to do with the driver, the driver's rating won't take a hit.

Expect to see both these updates starting Wednesday.
