It's a question for the ages: who actually played Ugly Naked Guy on Friends?

For years, the identity of the actor playing Ugly Naked Guy has been an enigma, only appearing for small moments in our lives and never revealing his face.

For years, IMDb falsely credited actor Michael Hagerty as the mysterious man in the window, but Hagerty played the friends' super, Mr. Treeger, amongst his other movie and TV roles.

Huffington Post writer Todd Van Luling spent a year searching for the real Ugly Naked Guy. His journey took him down many winding roads and dead ends, until he finally found the man he was looking for: actor Jon Haugen.

Thanks to the diligence of Van Luling and the helpful assistance of Central Casting, who handled talent on Friends, Haugen was finally found.

"There’s only one Ugly Naked Guy, man, and that was me," Haugen told the Huffington Post.

However, records and recollections of people who worked on the show back in the '90s is still fuzzy.

"[Producer Todd Stevens] said that he recognized Haugen, but had a recollection that a different actor may have played the part during the second appearance...Central Casting did not hold on to the records for the role, but still believe Haugen was the the right actor," wrote Van Luling.

Haugen said that he never came forward because Warner Brothers was "was keeping it mellow. They wanted everybody to have a guess who I was.”

Haugen also added one tidbit about his famous scene with David Schwimmer, which may come as a shock to some fans.

"We were just in boxer shorts and they made it look like we were naked," he said.

It seems the mystery has been solved. For now.
