Nearly two decades after it first hit theaters, Unbreakable is finally getting a sequel.

But in typical M. Night Shyamalan fashion, there's a twist.

As announced by the filmmaker today, his sequel to Unbreakable will also be a sequel to Split – the thriller by Shyamalan that opened earlier this year.

The new film, titled Glass, will bring back Split's James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, along with Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Casey Cooke. Returning from Unbreakable will be Bruce Willis as David Dunn and (of course) Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, a.k.a. Mr. Glass.

Split centered on a man (McAvoy) with 24 distinct personalities, the last of which ("the Beast") is the most dangerous. Taylor-Joy played one of the victims kidnapped by Kevin to be a sacrifice to the Beast.

The film featured a surprise cameo by Willis as David Dunn, who was revealed in Unbreakable to have superhuman abilities. That same scene also included a reference to Dunn's nemesis Mr. Glass.

There's no word yet on when shooting on Glass will begin. Considering that Shyamalan's script is already complete, though, we'd guess it'll get rolling sooner rather than later.

Universal Pictures will release the film on January 18, 2019.
